Friends of the Cambria County Library
Hello from the Friends of the Cambria County Library (FOCCL), and welcome to our web page! We are an association dedicated to assisting the Cambria County Library through various advocacy and fundraising efforts. Our goals include promoting a better understanding within the community of the needs of the library, focusing attention on its services and facilities, and assisting it financially through a variety of projects and initiatives. We are members of Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries, (PCBL)

We offer memberships at a variety of levels. We welcome any members who would like to volunteer in our bookstore, serve on the steering committee, or assist with occasional special events and fundraisers. If you are not already a member, please join us! Annual dues are $10 for an individual, $20 for a family, $50 for a friend, $50 and above for corporate, and $250 for a lifetime membership. If you join as a lifetime member, a bookplate with your name will be added to a new book in the library’s collection. All members receive our newsletter and are invited to our annual Members’ Meeting held every November. In addition, corporate members and sponsors ($50 and above) have their company’s name listed in our newsletter, on the Friends of the Library page of the Cambria County Library’s website, and also on the wall in the bookstore.

Inclined to Read Used Bookstore
Monday through Saturday 10:00 – 3:30
Our store is located within the library lobby and staffed by members of the FOCCL. You’ll find a wide variety of gently used books (including some collectors’ items) in hardback and paperback, DVDs, CDs, audio books and other assorted items. Donations of items in good to excellent condition are welcome, and may be dropped off any time the bookstore is open. We also welcome FOCCL members to help with sorting or shelving. Join us in April when the store displays theme filled baskets and sells raffle tickets for each. Winning tickets are drawn at Night Music@ the Library (no need to be present to win). In December we feature holiday books and CDs, and our crafty members donate their pieces to sell. For any questions, please call 536-5131 x220.
FOCCL hosts a popular basket raffle in support ofNight Music @ the Library, held the last Friday in April. Members assemble a variety of theme baskets featuring items donated from local businesses and individuals. If you would like to donate a basket, please contact the bookstore manager at the Inclined to Read bookstore.
Monies raised through book sales, fundraisers, memberships and donations support many projects and purchases for the Cambria County Library. These include contributions to the summer reading programs; shelving and displays; furniture upgrades; equipment such as a microfilm reader/printer; items for the children’s department; renovations to the community room and restrooms; exterior building improvements; and the library’s participation in seasonal events in the community. We also continue to help with funding for book purchases for the library on an on-going basis.
When you purchase through AmazonSmile, please select Friends of Cambria County Library. Amazon will send a portion of your purchase to FOCCL.
To raise community awareness, we publish a newsletter twice a year with information about upcoming events and fundraising efforts, in addition to highlighting library programs, services, and resources. Copies are distributed to our members and occasionally to community groups. To read the latest edition, click here: Fall 2019 Newsletter.
