Nancy Lechene

Library Director

Nancy completed her BSBA at Columbia Southern University and her library education at Graduate School, USDA, and has 20 years of library experience.  She is married and has 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren.  She enjoys church and family activities and loves to read. She calls Carrolltown home and loves all the library patrons, especially the children.

Assistant Director

Wanda is a retired transportation coordinator and seamstress. She loves to read and organize things, so she fits right in at the library. She enjoys the smiling faces of library visitors, and loves being helpful. Wanda and her husband live in Bakerton, PA. She loves spending time with her family of two children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Board President

Jessica Campbell pursued her arts education at Seton Hill University, where she graduated with a B.F.A. in 3-D Media. Jess worked at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) for almost 20 years managing the Arts-in-Education programs and Museum Healthcare Partnership. She was responsible for the artist residency programs in school and community settings in southwestern PA and delivery of professional development to train teaching artists and classroom teachers to design and deliver quality arts residencies.

 In 2021, Jess graduated with her Master of Education degree at Saint Francis University where she is currently the Director of the Center for Fine Arts and the Assistant Professor of Visual Arts. As a professional artist, Jess captures moments in time around her home or places traveled as well as intuitively expressing emotions. She works mostly in acrylics but enjoys other mediums including oil, encaustics, gouache, and photography.  

 

Jess, her husband, Carl, and their son, Parker reside in Carrolltown. Aside from her interest in the library, Jess is the secretary for VFW Ream Miller Post 7783 Auxiliary in Saint Benedict.

 

 

 

Kelly Dumm

Board Vice President

Kelly Dumm is a Carrolltown native and currently lives in East Carroll Township with her husband, dog and cat. She is a graduate of Cambria Heights and Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology. She works full time and teaches fitness and nutrition classes as a part time passion. She has fond memories of visiting the Carrolltown Library when she was young and currently loves reading anything related to personal growth and development.

 

 

Ann M. Serafin

Ann M. Serafin

Secretary

Currently retired. Graduate of Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh, PA.

Former Court Reporter. Last worked at the Cambria County Courthouse in Ebensburg, PA.  Married with two children and four grandchildren. She loves traveling and reading.

Her favorite thing about the library is meeting new people and reading new books!

 

 

Emily Krug

Treasurer

Emily Krug is an Internal Auditor/Accountant for Cambria County.  Emily is married and has two elementary age children. She enjoys every minute that she gets to spend with her kids whether it is attending baseball games or dance recitals.  Her family loves the outdoors and spends lots of time hiking and biking in the summertime.    Emily remembers coming to the Library as a young child and her fondest memory is the smell of the old books!

Jackie Adams has been a lifetime member of the Carrolltown Public Library and proudly serves as a current board member.  She has “loved to read ever since she was a little girl” and continues to be an avid reader.  Jackie is a dedicated volunteer and shares the board’s enthusiasm for serving local communities.

Melanie is the Office Manager of the Jackson Township Water Authority. She is married with two children and one dog
She loves everything about the library! She loves browsing and just looking at the books on the shelves. She loves thumbing through pages of interesting books and periodicals. She loves the smell and the quiet, cozy feeling of being in a library. She loves all of the extra services and programs that the library has to offer.
And to think, all of this is free to the public!

 

 

Karissa Deckard

Karissa is an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Finance & Administration at Saint Francis University. She is a graduate of IUP Academy of Culinary Arts and is currently attending SFU to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Management.  Karissa is a Ebensburg native and currently lives in West Carroll Township. Karissa is married and has three children and two dogs.  In her free time, Karissa loves to read, sew, and travel with her family. 

Cinta Porter

Cinta earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. She is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Cinta and her husband reside in Carrolltown. They have two grown sons and three grandchildren.  Cinta considers the Library to be the jewel of our borough and the hub of the community. She is delighted to serve on the board of such a dynamic library where people of all ages find opportunities for learning, socializing and entertainment.

 

Kenneth Kerchenske

Kenneth Kerchenske

Trustee

A lifelong resident of Carrolltown, Ken Kerchenske is currently the Superintendent of the Cambria Heights School District, having previously worked as high school principal and middle school teacher. He earned his B.A. in History from Saint Vincent College, M.Ed. in Educational Administration from California University of PA, and Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from Saint Francis University. Ken is an avid fan of reading, the beach, and the Miami Dolphins. As a kid, he read every magic book in the Carrolltown Public Library as he pursued a career as a professional magician.
